about

Third-eye Slide-Show is a raw and sparse record, with many of the tracks containing just her voice and her guitar. The opening track ‘STP’ buzzes and flickers as her breathy, acrid vocals are accompanied by jarring guitar strums that recall the confessional tones of Kim Gordon and Sonic Youth. In other tracks, Heiða submits her guitars to various levels of processing and effects. The looping sounds and vocal manipulations of ‘Arnim’ are joined with the warping extrusions of ‘MITDE’, while ‘Bald Nun’ bares its teeth and bleeds low end distortion and noise onto the floor. It is not until the album’s title track, ‘Third-Eye Slide-Show’, and the album closer ‘VWT’ do we see the inclusion of more timbral elements, such as ticking drum percussion, soft bass and lurching, lo-fi keyboard melodies, that add a more melancholic dimension to the music. Third-Eye Slide-Show is a deeply confessional record, the solitude emanating from of the recording process undertaken by Heiða resulting in her inner thoughts pouring out onto the tape.

FALK Reykjavik, Iceland

FALK - Fuck Art Let's Kill is the name of our combined interest in what we think is important in some vague way. We make something and release it to fend for it self. To kill or be killed. Such is the way of the FALK.
