about

FALK presents a special split double album from two artists who helm the Icelandic label Rimar Tracks - AAIIEENN and Decanter

These two guys who were making their own electronic music as fledging label Rimar Tracks, started coming to our shows and little by little we began to recognise them. If we had ever been good looking and talented we could say that we saw a little of our younger selves in these guys. Instead we say that they are now what we wished we could have been back then.

They started sending us their own tracks and we liked them but it was when we got a chance to go to one of their label nights when we saw their magic in action. AAIIEENN, all serious and hunched while he made his home assembled modular synth sing mathematically precise songs like a bejeweled mechanical nightingale. Decanter meanwhile was all natural, wild and unpredictable made us dance and yell to his dirty beats.

Being old, corrupt gits, we decided then and there that we would harness their youth. “We’ll snatch them up before someone else does” we said with an empirical grin and true to our corrupted ways we tried to divide and conquer, approaching them individually and offer each of them to release on FALK. Them being pure and young and true to their project it wasn’t really a surprise when both of them said no, they wouldn’t release on any other label than their own. So we said fuck it and released their whole label.

So this is our attempt of eternal life. Having the mechanical and the natural nightingales sing duets in our window to forever stave Death away.

about

FALK Reykjavik, Iceland

FALK - Fuck Art Let's Kill is the name of our combined interest in what we think is important in some vague way. We make something and release it to fend for it self. To kill or be killed. Such is the way of the FALK.
